'Voices' Prove Need For Support

Published: Apr 22, 2007

"Voices From The Front" is a Tribune feature that is just about priceless, but because of the recent juvenile political maneuvering in Washington, it is as powerful as can be.

On March 8 you featured a young man who is not yet old enough to even buy a beer in many states, yet he seems to have more character in his little finger than most of the folks inside the D.C. beltway combined. The interview was conducted by MyLinh Shattan, a graduate from West Point.

Do we really need to see again what happens when Congress cuts the legs out from under our deployed military forces?

It would be great if we could get 535 clones of Specialist Hohenbrink and Shattan and use them to replace every single member of Congress. To paraphrase Groucho Marx, we "wouldn't notice anything except for the improvement."

Our military will get the job done. Let's let them do it.
